SPECIALIZED OVERNIGHT CAMPS 2023
Camp MoVal, Union, MO: Adventures in the Community, Specialized Overnight Retreat Camp for Adults ages 18 and older, July 30-August 4, 2023 ~ Cost: $499. We have a beautiful lake, an archery range, plenty of hiking, and cabin camping. Special needs campers must be able to negotiate camp environment with little or no supervision. Family Camp – July 5-7,2023; $179 per person. Enjoy a self-directed 3-day getaway to enjoy the beauty of nature and take part in some of our activities such as canoeing, campfires, and more. No supervision is provided for Family Camp, so sign up a caregiver if you need supervision for your disability.
DASA Camp WeCanDu, Babler State Park, St. Louis, MO: June 18-23, 2023, Cost: $350 Early Bird from February 13-March 13; $400 after March 13. Disabled Athlete Sports Association (DASA) Camp WeCanDu provides children living with cerebral palsy, spinal cord injuries, visual impairments, and many other forms of physical disabilities come together at camp to create a fun and engaging social support system and discover natural abilities that stay with them for a lifetime. Campers interested in attending camp MUST fill out a Camper Application which opens February 13th, early bird rates end March 13th.
CAMP LITTLE GIANT 2023, Carbondale, IL: Specialized Camp for various disabilities, located at SIUE Touch of Nature Center in Edwardsville, Illinois. After our 2 year hiatus, Camp Little Giant will be returning in 2023. We offer youth camps for those with brain injuries, Autism and/or Social Struggles, and ADHD. Camp Barnabas, Purdy, MO (map): Specialized Weeklong Overnight Camp, weeks available for ages 7-adult; Disabilities grouped by week with sibling weeks available, June 4-August 11, 2023 ~ COST: $1,500 per week. Meramec Adventure Camp, Steelville, MO: Specialized Weeklong Overnight Camp for Youth on the Autism Spectrum, July 17-22, 2023 – $890. Age 7 and older. Sunnyhill Adventures, Dittmer, MO: Specialized Weeklong Overnight Camp. Eight weeks for adults from June 18-August 18. One youth week from July 30-August 4, 2023. Cost: $850 for 1:5 staff ratio, $1,025 for 1:1 staff ratio.
Wonderland Camp, Rocky Mount, MO (on Lake of the Ozarks): Specialized Weeklong Overnight Camp (ages 6-65+, all disabilities) – weekly from May 21-August 4, $950 per week with option to bring your own care giver for additional cost of $100. We believe that everyone deserves to camp. Our summer program is reserved for children and adults with disabilities. For over 50 years, we have been hosting campers and giving them the time of their lives. Camp is near Lake of the Ozarks.
Camp Wartburg, Waterloo, IL: Shepherding Sheep Specialized Overnight Camp, (ages 10-65+) Mini Camp June 4-9, 2023. The Shepherding Sheep Program at Camp Wartburg is an experience designed to get children and adults with disabilities outdoors and in an environment of interaction with others. Camp Wartburg’s participant to counselor ratio is one-to-one or one-to-two staff/volunteers per child/adult. Special Olympics Summer Camp, Jefferson City, MO: Specialized Weeklong Overnight Camp for all ages. Camp Dates: June 18-23, 2023. Athletes of Special Olympics experience high intensity activities including sports, fishing, art, nature, health, and more at the Training-For-Life Campus in Jefferson City, MO. Cost: $300. Camp Hickory Hill (diabetes), Columbia, MO: Specialized Weeklong Overnight Camp for ages 7-17 who have diabetes. Two-Week Teen Camp – June 25-July 7, 2023 (Sunday-Friday) for ages 13-17; One-Week Youth camp on July 9-15 for ages 7-12. Sliding scale fee from $400-$1,200 depending on family income.
Camp MITIOG~ Specialized Youth Overnight Camp, Excelsior Springs, MO (near Kansas City), July 16-21, 2023. MITIOG is a week-long camp that serves children with Spina Bifida. Children participate in swimming, fishing, canoeing, arts and crafts, nature classes, classes on self-help medical care and evening campfires.
UMSL Succeed Summer Enrichment Camp, designed for youth entering college, ages 17-22. Campers live in the UMSL residence hall all week, participate in academic workshops and vocational training, enjoy recreation & traditional camp activities, and learn about living independently. Campers must be independent in self-care. Meals are included. Dates: June 12-16; July 10-14, 2023. Cost: $600. Camp Application is due by April 14, 2023.

Camp Courage, MO, Specialized ADULT Mini Camp, Stewartsville, MO, 9201 N Campbell Ct. ~ Kansas City, MO 64155. June 22-25, 2023, Cost: $250. Our camp caters to adults ages 21 and older, giving them a typical camping experience with programs, parties & friends on an adult level. Participants must have community safety & personal care skills.

Cub Creek Science Camp, Rolla, MO: Weeklong Traditional Overnight (ages 7-17) – weekly from June 4-August 12, 2023 ~ $1,190 per week. With more than 300 animals and over 100 species, our overnight summer camp is an animal lover’s paradise. We offer animal camp, science camp, adventure camp, vet camp, nature camp, and traditional summer camp activities such as swimming, fishing, hiking, arts and crafts, and ropes course. Campers experience our amazing animal farm and adopt a friend for the week.
Camp Sabra Lake Ozark, MO: Traditional Overnight Camp for youth entering grades 3-10. Camp dates run from June 11-August 4, 2023 and vary by camp selected. Cost: $1,425-$6,395. YMCA Camp Lakewood Potosi, MO: Traditional Overnight Camp for youth ages 8-16. Mini Camp July 5-9 and Aug 6-9, 2023 for $495. Weeklong Camp Weeks from June 4-August 4, 2023 for $945-1,145 with additional fees for specialty topic camps. Group size is about 15, individualized supports available upon request and meeting with camp staff prior to attending.

Harbor Unlimited, Camp Lighthouse, Specialized Family Retreat Day Camp, May 27-30, 2023 at StrongTower Ranch in Wright City, MO, 63390. Cost: $175 for camper with a disability with sliding scale fee for each family member or caregiver attending to support the camper. Our family special needs disability summer day camp features Parent Events, Sibling Events, Group Games, Enrichment Activities, Bonfire, Water Activities, Worship, Crafts, Horsemanship, and a chance to try adapted water skiing on Friday.
Exceptional Equestrian, Specialized Horse Camp at our beautiful farm outside of Washington, MO: Our summer programs offer a variety of activities and learning experiences for children of all ages. Dream Big Summer Career Exploration Camps for students with disabilities ages 14-21 who want to explore high-demand career opportunities at a variety of St. Louis’most inclusive companies. Campers will interact with major corporations and learn about what it takes to become a successful adult with a disability. CAMP DATES: JUNE 5-9, 2023: DREAM FROM HOME, Virtual exploration of various “on-ground” careers highlighted for students who are still deciding on a career path.
JUNE 26-30, 2023: INNOVATE – For students who are interested in STEM careers (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math)
JULY 10-14, 2023: HANDS-ON – For students who are interested in trade and technical careers (these camps are not eligible for Recreation Council voucher funding.)
STAGES St. Louis Performing Arts Academy: Access the Arts, Inclusive Special Needs Day Camp for age 11+, Monday-Friday, June 6-16, 2023 from 1-4pm, Performance: June 16 at 2pm. Cost: $300. This day camp is designed for campers living with physical, cognitive, or developmental disabilities to perform a fully-staged musical theatre production. In just two weeks, campers with and without disabilities work together to learn songs, scenes and choreography from a musical with a capstone performance on Friday afternoon on the last day of camp.
TASK (Team Activities for Special Kids) Specialized Day Camp, various camps for youth ages 5-14, teen camp, and after hours camp for ages 19 and older. Weeks from June 12-July 28, 2023. Train Your Brain, Wash U OT Services, half-day Specialized Youth Day Camp for youth who have poor attention, planning, and organization skills. Four weeks for youth ages 9-12 from June 19-Aug 4, 2023; Three weeks for ages 13-16 from July 3-Aug 4, 2023. Cost: $100 which includes project planning kit to take home.

Camp R&R (STL County only): This is a weekend camping program beginning in August that serves St. Louis County residents ages 7 and older who have intellectual and developmental disabilities and high support needs. Leaps and Bounds, Specialized Youth Camps and Therapy programs. Ages 3-14. Our therapeutic day camps for ages 5-12 are a great option for children who struggle in large, traditional camp programs. They are week-long learning enrichment programs that incorporate therapeutic activities to address your child’s needs and include lessons incorporating reading, science, and social studies. Miriam Learning Center Academic Support Camps, Specialized Academic Youth Day Camp for grades K-12. We offer four weeks of half day academic focused day camps from June 12-July 28, 2022. MO School for the Blind Sports Camp (STL): FREE! June 23-25, 2023. Open to youth that are blind and visually impaired ages 12-18 at Webster University. It’s a free 2-day overnight program. Only 16 campers allowed.
Variety’s Adventure Day Camp, FULL for Summer 2023 – Camp dates from June 5-July 28, 2023 – Families may select a limited number of FREE weeks of summer day camp for youth with disabilities. Camp Circle Star Specialized Youth Day Camp in Hillsboro, MO. Weeks from June 12-August 11, 2023. Cost: $400 per week plus optional $50 per week for transportation to camp from our Ballwin office. Our campers with autism need specialized camping experiences, so we provide 1:1 supervision for everyone. Little Gym, Inclusive Half Day Camp for ages 3-8 at locations in St. Louis and St. Charles. Weeks from June 11-August 19, 2023. Cost varies depending on camps you select. Combining fun physical activity, games, and arts & crafts, we’ll help your child beat the summer heat by staying cool at The Little Gym.
Boys and Girls Club, Summer Blast Day Camp-St. Charles, MO ~ Inclusive Day Camp for ages 6-18 happening weekly from June 5 – August 1, 2023 + STEM Camp Weekend (No camp July 3-7). $135 per week for the first child, $115 per week for each additional child. Daily meals, special events, and field trips are included in this cost. $35 annual Membership fee required.
Boys & Girls Club Summer Day Camp-St. Louis– Inclusive Day Camp for ages 6-18; Boys & Girls Clubs is planning to have summer day camp in 9 locations across MO & IL to serve as many youth as possible. ID Tech Computer Camp, Inclusive Day Camp for ages 7-17. Weeks from July 10-August 11, 2023. Cost: $999-$1,549 per week; located at Washington University. Come have some technology fun including coding, game design, Roblox, and Minecraft.
Vetta Sports, Inclusive Day camp, for ages 5-12 at five locations in St. Louis/St. Charles, weekly from May 30-August 18, 2023. Cost: Early Bird – $195-210 per week until 4/17/22, plus $40 membership fee; daily rates available. We integrate sports with traditional camp activities guaranteed to keep your child active.
Imagination Pottery, Wentzville MO; Inclusive Pottery Day Camp, ages 6-12; Cost $143 for 3-day camp session from 9am-12 noon, weeks in June, July, and August, 2023. ids will have a blast painting, sculpting with clay, and using their imagination to bring their artwork to life.
Highlander Farm Camp, Wentzville, MO; Inclusive Day Camp. ages 6-12. Camp runs Monday-Thursday for with eight weeks from June 5 and July 27, 2023. Cost: $189 per week early bird price until April 1. Interact with various animals, learn about permaculture, composting, the eco-system, hatch baby chicks, feed baby goats, discover worm farming, and end the week with a super fun outdoor waterslide party.
College for Kids, St. Charles, Inclusive Half-Day Camps with sessions for ages 5-14. Held at St. Charles Community College. Learning and having fun go hand-in-hand this summer at St. Charles Community College’s College for All Kids (CFAK) camps. Varsity Tutors, PLUS ~ Virtual Summer Camps and Classes for youth through high school age. Keep your student engaged all summer with 100’s of fun classes taught by an instructor by ZOOM. Large group STAR classes are always FREE and are open to all ages.

Camp Invention STEM Camp: Inclusive Day Camp for grades K-6. Locations in St. Louis and St. Charles. Dates and locations in St. Louis and St. Charles. Cost: $260 per week. A confidence-boosting STEM summer camp where kids build creative inventions and lasting friendships. Led by qualified local educators, our camps offer new and exciting hands-on activities.
Girl Scout Day Camp, weeks in June and July across the St. Louis/St. Charles metro area. Cost varies by camp. Girl Scout Day Camps are the perfect way to try new things, make new friends and experience new places.

We look forward to seeing our returning volunteers and having our new volunteers work with our disabled athletes for the betterment of adaptive water skiing, and of course having a great time while doing it. We need participants and volunteers for each of our events. Adventure and Travel Programs for Adults over age 18:
Ten Toes Express (STL): Citizens for Modern Transportation challenge senior adults to join the Ten Toes Express spring session from April 6- June 10, 2023. For only $10 per 12 week session, senior adults join in weekly walking tours and metro bus rides to attractions in St. Louis. Information
Sunnyhill ON-THE-ROAD adult adventures for people with disabilities – Register Here ~ Sunnyhill’s On the Road Adventures weekend travel program provides adults with developmental disabilities the unique opportunity to experience more independence. Cost: $850 for 1:5 staff ratio (1:1 staff ratio not available at this time).
ARC ESCAPES, ADVENTURES FOR ADULTS WITH DISABILITIES: June, September, and November trips are full, but accepting names for a waitlist: Travel with us for adventure, exploration, and relaxation. YMCA Trout Lodge Weekend Adventure: Featuring incredible views of Mark Twain National Forest and sunrises over the water, Trout Lodge’s cabins and recently renovated Lodge guest rooms provide a home base as you explore dozens of activities, from the Alpine Tower, paintball course, and zip line to trail rides, archery and water sports. From theme parks to national parks, Alaska to Hawaii, cruises and international destinations-our excursions take you all over the world!
BIG MUDDY CANOE ADVENTURES ~ www.2muddy.com/trips ~ COST: $80-$100+ depending on experience you select.. Whether this is your first time paddling or you’re a bonafide river rat, Big Muddy Adventures has a trip for you. We offer a wide range of options, from hour-long paddles to multi-day expeditions to private island dinners. We supply everything you need, including an experienced guide, double-wide safety canoes, life jackets, and lunch.
Wilderness Inquiry, Gateway to Outdoor Adventures for People with Disabilities: Wilderness Inquiry shares the outdoors with everyone, including persons with intellectual and physical disabilities. Designed for adults with developmental disabilities, brain injuries, and other forms of cognitive disability, Gateway to Adventure (Gateway) is a program that helps people develop the skills they need to enjoy inclusive outdoor recreation activities. Trips cost $800-$1,000 depending on venue selected.

Road Scholar Trips (not specialized): These learning adventures engage expert instructors, provide extraordinary access, and stimulate discourse and friendship among people for whom learning is the journey of a lifetime. Cost ranges from $2,000-$9,000 depending on the trip location and amenities selected. These are non-specialized trips so travelers need to have adequate community safety skills or travel with a trusted travel partner.
